Jalandhar: 48 villages under Adampur CHC achieve target of 100 percent vaccination-DC
Exhorts people to come forward for second dose to win over this ongoing battle against Coronaviruses

Jalandhar, October 15, 2021: Emerging as a leading district for vaccinating rural population, Jalandhar district has completed 100 percent vaccination in 48 villages falling under Adampur community health centre.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that a special drive was initiated to ensure 100 percent vaccination in villages under which the teams of health department have been camping in the villages to cover maximum population under this mammoth drive.
He further stated that all willing and eligible in the said 48 villages were vaccinated by the teams adding that the administration has lately achieved a rare feat by covering over two million beneficiaries which stands at 90 percent of total eligible beneficiaries.
The DC called upon people to come forward for the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine to ensure their safety from the virus. He added that special mobile camps were being held across the district to assist people with doorstep inoculation facilities.
Giving more information about the drive, Thori said that the teams of district administration and health department were in constant touch with the panchayats and sarpanches to ensure timely vaccination.
He said that the efforts were receiving encouraging responses from the residents of villages. In coming days the remaining villages will also be covered as per the availability of vaccine, he said. The DC further asked the other health blocks to emulate this move by ensuring complete vaccination of their villages in coming days.
Pointing out further, SMO Adampur CHC DR. Reema said that only twelve villages were pending to achieve 100 percent vaccination in Adampur health block which would be covered within a few days thereby making the block first to cover 100 percent vaccination in all its villages as over 95 percent eligible beneficiaries have already been covered in the remaining twelve villages.
She also thanked the district administration led by DC Ghanshyam Thori for their support by ensuring timely availability of vaccines and setting up special mobile camps at village level. She also noted that earlier the Adampur health block was the first to achieve 100 percent vaccination of specially-abled persons.
The SMO stated that the villages achieved the distinction of having 100 percent beneficiaries inoculated included Kathar, Kotli Sheikhan, Goel Pind, Jaganpur, Jagrawan, Diantpur, Jalpot, Dhandauri, Muradpur, Talwara, Lutera Kalan, Talwandi, Arayian, Khiala, Daulatpur, Madar, Sattowali, Lutera Khurd, Massania, Dhogri, Raipur Rasoolpur, Kahanpur, Hargobind Nagar, New Hargobind Nagar, Bachint Nagar, Sarabha Nagar, Nurpur Colony, Beas Pind, Manko, Udesian, Chuharwali, Kapoor Pind Lehsriwal, Jandu Singha, Mehmadpur, Arjanwal, Bulandpur, Sunder Nagar, Ghurial, Raowali, Haripur, Narangpur, Khichipur, Sikanderpur, Chukhiara, Khurdpur, Kadiana, Bahudeenpur, and Bhagwanpur.
