Illegal publicity hoardings removed by MC from Chandigarh markets
Chandigarh, October 18, 2021:
Taking a serious view on mushrooming of illegal advertisement hoardings, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh on Monday carried out anti encroachment drive in different parts of city and removed unauthorized publicity hoardings.
Following the directions of Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, MC, Chandigarh, a team of engineering wing and enforcement wing removed approximately 160 glow signs, hoardings, boards and flexes seizing three big truckloads of items.
More than 60 boards and glow signs, hoardings have been removed from sector 22 A and approximately 100 glow signs have been removed from sector 34 C.
The Commissioner said that such type of anti-encroachment drives will be carried out on regular bases. The penalty will be imposed upon the violators as per Chandigarh Advertisement Control Order 1954 and Delhi Defacement of Property Act 2007, she added.
