Amid Corona precautions, Police Commemoration Day celebrated in Ferozepur
Ferozepur October 21, 2021: Keeping in view the effects of the coronavirus, Police Commemoration Day was celebrated at Police Line today in a simple and effective manner.

Present among others on this occasion were, DIG Ferozepur Range Inderbir Singh, SSPL Harmandeep Singh Hans, District and Session Judge Kishore Kumar, and Civil Judge Senior Division Suresh Kumar Goyal.
Addressing the ceremony, Inderbir Singh DIG said that this year, due to Coronavirus, the police officials have visited the martyrs’ families at their homes. He said on October 21 In 1959, the jawans deployed in a contingent of hot spring area of Leh and Ladakh, were attacked during the war against the Chinese when 10 police personnel were killed. This day is celebrated as police commemorate day to remember their sacrifice.
DIG said that a total of 1784 police officers/staff sacrificed their precious lives in Punjab including DIG- 2, SSP- 3, SP- 4, DSP- 12, Inspector- 32, Sub -Inspector- 61, Assistant Sub-Inspector-111, Constable-268, Soldier-817, Home Guards Volunteer-294 and SPO-180, while maintaining the unity and integrity of the country. He added that out of this 45 police employees were from Ferozepur which include SI-1, ASPs-4, HCs-11, Sepoy-8, SPOs-5, PCGs-16.
He said we will continue to have full respect for these martyrs adding that they are always alive in our hearts and we should always remember the sacrifices made by them and make their dreams come true. Today, we all come together to pay our heartfelt homage to these martyrs and pledge that their martyrs will not be let go and we will all uphold the law and order of the country by following the path of their sacrifices for the sake of the country.
Thanking the guests, Harmandeep Singh Hans SSP said that Punjab Police history is full of sacrifice and glorious and the state police made great sacrifices to maintain peace in the country to maintain the country's unity, integrity and communal harmony, which can never be forgotten.
He further said the sacrifices of these great martyrs are a source of inspiration for future generations. I offer heartfelt tributes to these martyrs. He said that it was our duty to take care of the families of these great martyrs on a priority basis and I am proud to have the opportunity to serve in the land of martyrs.
Earlier, SP Balbir Singh the martyred officers and jawans of various security forces of the country were remembered and their names were readout. Later the police and judiciary officials paid floral tributes at the Martyrs Memorial. Meanwhile, flowers were also presented to 4 police personnel who were martyred during the Corona epidemic in district Ferozepur.
The weapons were reversed as a mark of respect to the martyrs with two minutes of silence by the police jawans led by DSP Nikhil Garg.
