Deputy CM OP Soni flags off 11 IEC awareness vans under the HIV/AIDS Public Awareness Campaign
Mohali, October 28, 2021:
Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister OP Soni on Thursday flagged off 11 IEC awareness vans under the HIV/AIDS Public Awareness Campaign at Government College of Mohali in Phase 6.
Secretary Health Vikas Garg and Special Secretary Health cum Project Director Punjab State AIDS Control Society Amit Kumar were especially present during the occasion. A special function was organized at Civil Hospital Phase 6, Mohali to flag off these vans run by Punjab State AIDS Control Society. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab OP Soni said that under this 30-day campaign, people will be made aware of HIV / AIDS. Along with the vans, nukad natak teams are being sent, which will make people aware of HIV / AIDS through nuked nataks.
Soni said that along with these vans, lab technicians and counselors have been posted who will visit the villages and conduct free tests, and will provide counseling to the people. A macro plan has been prepared at the state level for the smooth running of the campaign and a detailed micro plan/route plan has been prepared at the district level.
On this occasion Director Health Services Dr. Andesh Kang, Director Health Services (Family Welfare) Dr. O.P. Gojra, Additional Project Director Dr. Bobby Gulati, Civil surgeon Mohali Dr. Adarshpal, SMO Mohali Dr. Anu Chopra Dosanjh, and staff of Punjab State AIDS Control Society were present.
