Chandigarh, November 19, 2021: Former Punjab CM and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Parkash Singh Badal called the Central Government's decision to repeal the farm bills as greatest event in history of farmers' struggles all over the world.
In a series, Parkash Singh thanked the almighty and congratulated the farmers on the historic win.
Taking to Twitter, Parkash Singh Badal said "A historic victory of farmers on the historic and sacred day of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Parkash Purab. It's a defining moment in the history and the greatest event in the history of farmers' struggles all over the world: Party patron S. Parkash Singh Badal."
"I thank the great Guru Sahiban and congratulate every farmer working hard on his fields. The implications of this victory will have wide-ranging & long-lasting impact on the struggle for justice for the poor & the deprived across the world," he added.
He also paid that respect to the farmers who have died during the course of protest along with the Lakhimpur violence victims.
"While I congratulate farmers of Punjab, the country & the world, my first thoughts go to families of 700 farmers martyred in the noble struggle! This, & the disgraceful incidents like #lakhimpurkheri will always remain a dark blot on this govt's face: These brave sons of soil would remain martyrs to the cause of justice for farmers, a cause to which my whole life has been dedicated. It was the first time in the history of the democratic govt that brazen & cruel laws were made without taking stakeholders on board," Badal added
