512 beneficiaries to get 5 marla plots in Hoshiarpur as district level committee accepts applications in 568 villages

Hoshiarpur, November 25, 2021:
As many as 512 beneficiaries have been identified for the allotment of 5-5 marla plots across 568 villages in Hoshiarpur district as the district level committee has accepted their applications thereby paving way for the allotment of land to them, said Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait.
The DC further added that the administration has identified government lands in 568 villages which would be allotted to all these eligible beneficiaries. She also said that the administration has further intensified its efforts to provide the benefit of this scheme to needy and homeless people. She added that the verification process was already completed by the authorities concerned on a fast track mode.
Terming this scheme a path-breaking initiative of state government, Riyait said that administration was duty bound to facilitate beneficiaries under this scheme as all out efforts were being made by the officials to complete the allotment process within stipulated time frame. She added that it was a humble gesture initiated by the state government to provide shelter to homeless people by allotting 5-5 marla plots to their names.
The DC said that the state government had fixed the targets for each district to identify beneficiaries under this scheme adding that land availability was also ensured in the 568 villages where these plots are to be allotted to beneficiaries. She further directed the SDMs to accelerate the allotment procedure in their respective jurisdiction and submit a regular progress report to him.
