Ludhiana MC razes bulldozer on ancestral property of NRI family
Chandigarh, December 4, 2021:
People go abroad to make the future of their family, but sometimes, people back here in India keep a bad eye on their property. People's properties are occupied, and then it takes a whole life to get them free. Not only is the contractor of the property, but also the representatives of the government involved in this work. This was stated by an England based NRI Dilpreet Singh Gill, who hails from Mohali and has an ancestral property in Ludhiana. He informed that a few days back, Ludhiana Municipal Corporation got a bulldozer run at his house. He has given a complaint against the officials of Ludhiana Municipal Corporation in the NRI cell of Mohali under trespass, theft and other charges. Mohali NRI Cell has assured them that they will take action against the guilty officers soon.
On Saturday, Gill and his wife Gurpreet Gill held a press conference at Chandigarh Press Club against the officers of Punjab Government, Police and Municipal Corporation Ludhiana. He said that his family is being harassed at the behest of a minister. “In1952, the land was allotted to my elders in Ludhiana. Out of that land, I have the ownership rights of two and a half acres of land. In 1962, my entire family had gone to England. Then we came back in 1992 and tried to do boundary walls of our land and people stopped them. People said that this land was lying vacant for many years and here we use it for walk. The matter reached the Municipal Corporation,” he said.
The Municipal Corporation also stopped them to construct anything there and told them that the land is now under their purview and parks, roads and community centers are to be built here. During this, Gill and his family moved the Ludhiana Sessions Court against the Municipal Corporation. There the court ordered in his favor and prohibited the MC from interfering in his possession.
Now despite the order of the court, the municipal team reached to demolish his house a few days ago without any notice, said Gill.
Then he was in Delhi and his servant called him and informed him. By the time he could do something, the MC team started a bulldozer at his house. Now he has given a complaint to the police against the officers of the Municipal Corporation.
