Pargat Singh kickstarts development projects worth Rs 1.43 crore in Sofi Pind
Assures smooth flow of funds for ensuring city like facilities in rural areas

Jalandhar, December 5, 2021: Reiterating his commitment to providing cities like infrastructure in villages, Punjab Education & Sports Minister Pargat Singh today kick-started development projects worth Rs. 1.43 crore in village Sofi Pind, where he assured Panchatay of the availability of sufficient funds to accomplish this task.
Accompanied by Panchayat members, the minister said that a mammoth exercise to revamp basic infrastructure in rural areas was already underway under which massive funds were being given to Panchayats.
He laid the foundation stone of the road along with interlocking tiles at Rs. 31.24 lakh, construction of the wall at Rs. 32.40 lakh, construction of lanes near bus stand Sofi Pind at Rs. 6.69 lakh, and new roads at Officer enclave at Rs. 70.04 lakh.
Addressing the gathering at these villages, the minister said that the state government has been according to top priority to revamp existing infrastructure besides launching new projects to make villages one of the best examples of development.
He further directed the officials concerned to complete all these projects within the stipulated time frame.
Interacting with Panchayats members here, he assured them of the smooth flow of funds for development works into their respective villages. He further asked the Panchayats to personally monitor the pace of ongoing works and report if any delay they found.
He categorically asked officials to strictly adhere to the quality of all the works besides ensuring timely completion.
Meanwhile, the minister interacted with the people and listen to their problems where he issued on-the-spot directions to officials concerned to resolve them.
During his visit to Sansarpur village, the Minister dedicated the stadium after its renovation was completed at an expenditure of Rs. 7 lakh. He also announced a new gym for the village besides a new six a side turf for the hockey ground while directing officials of the sport department to send him a proposal in this regard at the earliest.
