Chandigarh reports 1502 new COVID cases and 2 deaths

Chandigarh, January 19, 2022:
Chandigarh reported 1502 new COVID-19 positive cases on Wednesday. Two deaths due to COVID were also reported in the last 24 hours.
As per the information released by the health department, UT Chandigarh, the total number of active cases in Chandigarh stands at 9966.
In the last 24 hours, the department has tested 5797 samples. As per the figure, 1093 deaths have been reported in Chandigarh due to COVID-19 to date.
Likewise, the total number of patients who have tested positive to date stands at 81269.

Discharged Patients:-
Today 1112 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 7 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
COVID Deaths:-
- A 78 year old COVID positive female resident of Sector 23 who was a case of Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome expired at Mayo Hospital, Mohali. She was not vaccinated for COVID.
- An 73 year old COVID positive male resident of Sector 47, a case of Coronary Artery Disease, Hypertension and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus expired at Fortis Hospital, Mohali. He was fully vaccinated for COVID.
