DC asks health officials to ramp up Covid-19 vaccination
Ferozepur, January 20, 2021: Immediately after joining as Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur, Girish Dayalan reviewed the Covid-19 sampling and vaccination in the district and asked the health officials to ramp up Covid-19 vaccination, to achieve the target of a hundred percent vaccination, in the district.
DC said, in the recent meeting with the heads of departments and local NGOs, it was stressed upon to tap all sources to speed up the Covid-19 vaccination in the district, which is at present 76 percent of the first dose, 38.20 percent of the second dose, 16.9 percent of precautionary dose and 4.74 percent of the age group of 15-17 years.
The Election Commission of India has already emphasized the need to speed up vaccination in poll-bound states and further asked the poll-bound States to “accelerate” the pace of Covid-19 vaccination due to the low percentage of vaccination data as per the national statistics.
Girish Dayalan said, to ensure the conduct of elections following Covid protocols, today asked the media persons to give due coverage to this important issue for the people to come forward for vaccination besides asking NGOs to keep ready the list of persons so that health officials team could reach at the designated place, to protect the vulnerable population.
Making an appeal to one and all to cooperate in this noble cause, to put a check on the further transmission of Coronavirus and save the precious lives, DC said, No doubt, the Republic Day will be celebrated in a low-key manner due to Covid restrictions, but the people who have been in the frontline in the fight against the deadly virus will be recognized and honoured on Republic Day on January 26.
