HC stays Majithia's arrest for 3 days after denying anticipatory bail (Read Court order)

Chandigarh, January 25, 2022: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted three days to senior Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia for approaching the Supreme Court against HC's order on his anticipatory bail plea.
In the period of three days that came into effect on January 24, Majithia cannot be arrested, the order issued by Justice Lisa Gill stated.
Despite HC's court, the Punjab Police on Tuesday conducted raid at Majithia's residence at Green Avenue in Amritsar and various other locations.
The order further mentions that though the petitioner (Majithia) has requested for the time of a week to approach the Supreme court, the High Court didnt fiind any ground to grant the same.

Majithia, who has been booked under the NDPS Act by the Punjab police in the drugs case, had approached Punjab and Haryana High Court through his counsels Damanbir Singh Sobti and Arshdeep Singh Cheema seeking anticipatory bail.
Earlier on December 24, the anticipatory bail plea of Majithia was dismissed by a Mohali court.
