COVID cases in Chandigarh decreasing - 618 new cases and 2 deaths

Chandigarh, January 26, 2022:
Chandigarh reported 618 new COVID-19 positive cases on Wednesday. Two deaths due to COVID were also reported in the last 24 hours.
As per the information released by the health department, UT Chandigarh, the total number of active cases in Chandigarh stands at 6149.
In the last 24 hours, the department has tested 5105 samples. As per the figure, 1105 deaths have been reported in Chandigarh due to COVID-19 to date.
Likewise, the total number of patients who have tested positive to date stands at 87418.

Discharged Patients:-
Today 1500 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 7 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
COVID Deaths:-
- A 50 years old COVID positive male resident of Daria, a case of Bronchopneumonia and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome expired at GMSH-16. He was vaccinated for COVID for 1st Dose Only.
- An 11 month old COVID positive female resident of Dhanas, a case of Refractory Seizures and Respiratory failure expired at GMCH-32.
