Ludhiana, January 31, 2022: Disappointed over not getting a ticket, Senior Punjab Congress leader and Chairman Punjab State Industries Development Corporation Kirsan Kumar Bawa today announced that he would contest from West Assembly constituency against Minister Bharat Bhushan Asu as an independent candidate.
"Bawa's pain was exacerbated today when the Congress High Command, took away his 45-year life of struggle, treated him unfairly by not giving him a ticket from Ludhiana Assembly constituency South," read the press statement released by the leader.
"It was a matter of concern for the Congress workers that the party's Gandhian ideology and thinking were different during the distribution of tickets. Today the very existence of Congress is in jeopardy. The situation of the Congress party is such that Congress party ministers, MPs, and MLAs could see nothing but their family members. Not only this, our Chief Minister has fielded his brother. All this is happening under a deep conspiracy at the behest of the leader who has come from Delhi. Even the Gandhi family seems to be unaware of this conspiracy. There is a need to form a Congress Bachao Morcha and bring together the classy Congressmen on one platform to think for the bright future of the Congress because today's leaders have forgotten the price of independence.
He said that he was a loyal soldier of the Congress party and would stay till his last breath
