Kisan Morcha staging dharna at YPS Chowk, say wont leave without meeting CM

Chandigarh, May 17, 2022: Amid the heavy deployment of police, the several farmers bodies are holding Morcha at YPS Chowk, Mohali.
Around 23 farmer Union are holding indefinite protest against Punjab govt’s on various issues including decision delaying sowing amid power and water shortage.
The protesting farmers said that they wont leave without meeting Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Meanwhile, Bhagwant Mann is at Delhi to meet AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal to discuss Kisan Morcha.
"We have given one day ultimatum for the Punjab government. We dont want to meet any officials or cabinet ministers. We want to meet CM on our demands" told a farmer leader.
The farmers who were marching towards Chandigarh were stopped by the Punjab police. Police have put up barricades, tippers and rolled out water.
Farmers from various parts of Punjab have assembled at Gurdwara Amb Sahib. They have come in tractor trolleys, buses carrying essentials including cooking gas cylinder, ration and fans.
