Inter-school virtual debate held on AI in Medicine
Ferozepur, May 22, 2022: An inter-school virtual debate was organized on Artificial Intelligence in Medicine by DCM Group of Schools, among the medical stream students of Class XII.
Teams of two students each were formed from each school, who were given 3-4 minutes for the competition. He was open about the advantages and disadvantages of Medicine AI. Manavjot and Mehak from Das and Brown World School, Pearl and Vineet from DCM Senior Secondary School, Ramandeep and Abhijeet from DCM International School, Ganya and Ashmeet Singh from DCM Presidency Ludhiana, Akshat Agarwal and Meenal from DCM School Ambala participated. The event was judged by Umesh Bajaj, Mandeep and Dr. Pradin.
John McCarthy first described the term AI in 1956 as the science and engineering of making intelligent machines. AI is growing into the public health sector and is going to have a major impact on every aspect of primary care.
The debate on Artificial Intelligence in Medicine was interesting in this digital era. During the debate, various issues were raised like AI is the use of machine learning models to search medical data and uncover insights to help improve health outcomes and patients. The concern was only as to who takes the responsibility of AI’s mistake.
Head Senior Secondary Dr. Lalit Mohan Gupta informed that DC Model Senior Secondary School, Ferozepur secured the first position with 203 points, Das & Brown World School secured the second position with 193 points and DCM Presidency School secured the third position with 191 points.
