Mohali, June 17, 2022:
The residents of Zirakpur breathed a sigh of relief as power gets restored in many areas after around 60 hours. However, residents of some areas are still waiting for this relief as the work of restoration by teams of PSPCL is in progress.
Baldev Singh Sran, chairman cum managing director (CMD) of PSPCL issued a statement that one out of two circuits of 66KV Banur-Zirakpur line restored at 7 PM on Friday and supply to most of the affected areas of Zirakpur restored. He said that some rationing might be required during peak hours but during night all areas would get supply. Second circuit shall be restored by tomorrow (Saturday) late evening, said Sran.
It is to be noted that due to gusty winds and rain on Wednesday night, three 66 kV power transmission line towers were damaged following which power supply was disrupted in the Pabhat area and some other parts of Zirakpur. Due to this, all feeders got shut down at Daulat Singh Wala in Pabhat village and at the Ramgarh Bhuda sub-station. Several areas, including Pabhat, Balaji Enclave, VIP Road, Lohgarh, Guru Nanak Nagar, Abhepur, Chhat village and Singhpura in Zirakpur remained powerless for over 24 hours.
The teams of PSPCL remained present at the spots where lines were damaged to complete the restoration work at the earliest.
On the other side, the people raised slogans against the ruling Aam Aadmi Party to express their plight.
