SWA-TA honour MLA Dahiya for lions' share in budget for SBS State University
Ferozepur, July 3, 2022: Staff Welfare Association and Teachers Association (SWA-TA) of Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University – a leading institution in the border district - honoured MLA Rural Advocate Rajneesh Dahiya, for supporting to double the grant in budget, which has brought happiness among the teaching and non-teaching staff.
The staff and faculty of SBS State University Ferozepur honored and thanked MLA Rural Advocate Rajneesh Dahiya. The Punjab Government has recently doubled the grant in its first budget to SBS State University, a leading institution in the border district of Ferozepur.
Both, Gurpreet Singh, President, Staff Welfare Association and Dr. Kulbhushan Agnihotri, President, Teachers Association, briefed about the state of affairs of the University. It may be recalled that the university had been in financial crisis for the last four to five years. Due to which five months salaries of the staff and faculty in the previous years were pending and making difficult to meet with the day today expenses for the various activities of the organization.
Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Rajneesh Dahiya,MLA Rural said, I personally take up the matter to double the grant with the Chief Minister, Punjab Bhagwant Mann and Harpal Singh Cheema, Finance Minister, who fulfilled the promise by approving the budget and doubled the grant.
Dahiya said that the Punjab government was paying special attention to education and medical facilities so that every child of Punjab could be healthy and educated and stand on its own feet. He hoped that the staff of the university would now perform their duties with utmost sincerity and dedication and would take this university named after Shaheed Azam Bhagat Singh to new heights.
