Welfare steps for police personnel: ADGP Armed Police signs MoU with Multispecialty hospitals

Jalandhar, September 24, 2022: In a significant welfare step, the Punjab Armed Police have signed an MoU with some of the multi-specialty hospitals of Jalandhar, where all medical facilities including diagnostics at Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) rates will be provided to the police officials and their dependents.
Disclosing this here today the ADGP Punjab Armed Police M.F. Farooqui said that this facility would be extended to all the police officials and their families including special police officers (SPOs), Punjab Home Guards (PHGs), and Group-D as well.
The ADGP said that districts of Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar Rural, Kapurthala and Jalandhar Commissionerate along with PAP had been included under this initiative.
The CGHS rates are considerably low in comparison to high charges, said the ADGP adding that the rates of rooms and other healthcare facilities would be very low as per CGHS.
Accompanied by DIG (Administration) PAP Inderbir Singh and Commandant RTC Mandeep Singh Gill, the ADGP listed the salient features of the MoU which would ensure a big relief to police officials from immediate heavy financial burden.
This will inculcate self-respect among police officials that they are being treated specially, said Farooqui adding that Police officials will be given a card on which they will have their name, photograph and name of their family members, (whether they are dependent or not). It will not only reduce expenditure of policemen but also curtail burden of government exchequer, he added.
The ADGP also pointed out that a quarterly review meetings would be thereto to monitor and review the progress. A Committee of complaint redressal would also be formed to take up any issue raised among the Patient and the Hospitals.
HOSPITALS EMPANELED:
The ADGP M F Farooqui informed that with the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding the Jalandhar based hospitals namely Patel Hospital, Innocent Hospital, Srimann Hospital, Global Hospital, Maan Scanning Centre, and Bhatia scanning centre had been empaneled.
