The district administration in association with North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala on Wednesday evening will organize five cultural events in Khatkar Kalan to commemorate 115th Birth anniversary of Shaheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh.
In the evening, Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa will also lead a marathon, cycling and candle march from Banga, Kahma and ancestral house of martyr to the museum respectively in the evening.
Randhawa while giving information about the events, said that North Zone Cultural Centre will begin its events from 3 pm in the museum in which traditional folk singing by renowned singers, poets followed by folk dances including Malwai Gidha, Bhangra, Jaggo and others will pay tributes to the martyr in the ground of museum. He said that a total of 52 artists of the centre would enthrall the audience with their vibrant dance performances based on patriotic themes.
The Deputy Commissioner said that later, marathon and cycling would also be flagged from Banga and Kahma at 4.30 pm which would culminate outside the museum. Later, a candle march will also be carried out from the ancestral house of the martyr to the museum.
Randhawa expressed hope that these events will awaken the patriotic spirit of individuals which will be real and befitting tribute to the iconic martyrs.
