Students of Hans Kalan Govt School visit PAU

Ludhiana, November 22, 2022: As many as 105 students from Government Senior Secondary School, Hans Kalan, Jagraon, Ludhiana, visited Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today. Dr Rupinder Kaur, Professor of Extension Education, welcomed the school students who were accompanied by five teachers.
She informed them about the trainings and activities of the Skill Development Centre and how Centre was shaping the future of the farmers, youths and farm women through theatrical and practical trainings in agriculture and allied occupations.
Dr Vijaykant Singh and Dr NS Gill, experts of Soil Science, told the students about the land, water and power resources of Northern India during their visit to Dr Uppal Museum at PAU.
While visiting the Museum of Rural Life of Punjab at PAU, Amandeep Cheema explained that the museum was conceptualized by the former Vice-Chancellor Dr MS Randhawa who was known for foresight.
Inaugurated in April 1974, the museum has fascinated several visitors coming from different parts of the world, he added.
It highlights the socio-economic and religious life of ancient Punjab through different sections such as phulkari, archaeological exhibits, pottery and utensils, agricultural implements, murals, etc., he said.
