Gram Sabhas to hold meetings during Dec. 22
Put wiser Gram Sabhas of public welfare schemes of Govt, DC directs to officers
Ferozepur, November 24, 2022: During the full month of December 2022, general meetings of the Gram Sabhas will be held in the villages of the district. During these meetings, where the members of the Gram Sabhas will be made aware of their duties and rights, they will also be informed about the various public welfare schemes of the government. This was expressed by Deputy Commissioner, Amrit Singh, during a meeting with the officials of various departments apart from Rural Development and Panchayats Department.
DC instructed all the departments that the officers or representatives of the respective departments must be present at the general meeting of the villages so that they can be made aware of the various schemes of the government and their rights as Gram Sabha members. She instructed all the Gram Panchayats to inform the villagers in advance about the dates of the general meeting of the Gram Sabhas.
On this occasion, District Development and Panchayat Officer (DDPO), Sanjeev Sharma said the Gram Sabha general meeting is a basic permanent unit for the development of any village and it plays a vital role in the development of the village.
In the meeting, BDPO Lakhwinder Kaur, SJaswant Singh Warraich, Gurmeet Singh, Vipan Kumar, Deputy Director Animal Husbandry, Jaswant Singh, District Education Officer (Secondary). Chamkaur Singh, Dr. Deepti Arora from the Health Departmen and officials of other departments were also present.
