Canada breaking: Punjab born Jagrup Brar among 5 Punjabi MLAs inducted as members in new BC Cabinet

Punjab-born senior New Democratic Party (NDP) MLA Jagrup Brar has been inducted as Minister of state in the NDP government of British Columbia, Canada.
On Wednesday, the new B.C. cabinet was sworn in at the Government House in Victoria.Apart from Jagrup Brar , Harry Bains, Rachna Singh, Ravi Kahlon also inducted as Ministers and Nikki Sharma has been appointed as Attornery Genral of BC govt.

Jagrup Brar is a Canadian politician. He is a Member of the Legislative Assembly in British Columbia, Canada. He represented the ridings of Surrey-Panorama Ridge from 2004 to 2009 and Surrey-Fleetwood from 2009 to 2013 and since 2017 as a member of the New Democratic Party of British Columbia.
Jagrup Brar’s background:
Born in Deon village of Punjab in India, Jagrup was a member of the Indian National Basketball team and earned a master's degree in Philosophy. He then moved to Canada to study Public Administration and received an MPA.
For over a decade, he worked in the public and non-profit sectors. As the Executive Director of the Surrey Self Employment and Entrepreneur Development Society (SEEDS), Jagrup trained new entrepreneurs to develop and launch successful small business ventures.
He has been active in the Surrey community for years. He is a dedicated local volunteer, and has worked with a variety of local organizations providing services to young people, seniors, the homeless, and new Canadians. Jagrup is an advocate for the most vulnerable, and undertook the Welfare Challenge to tell a story about living in poverty in British Columbia.
Jagrup now lives in Surrey with his wife Rajwant and their two children, Noor and Fateh.
