Chandigarh, December 9, 2022:
The 10th edition of Literati, the Chandigarh International Literature Festival, begins on Friday, 16th December Lake, in collaboration with the Chandigarh Administration, Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi, Haryana Sahitya Akademi, and Haryana Government.
Dr. Sumita Misra, chairperson of the Chandigarh Literary Society (CLS) said that nearly 35 authors with English, Hindi, and Panjabi sessions featuring some of the celebrated authors from India and abroad including the well-known author and former CEO of Procter & Gamble, Gurcharan Das; South African author of Indian origin, Aman Singh Maharaj; Bollywood actor Divya Dutta; Rasheed Kidwai, renowned Punjabi Poet Surjit Patar; Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi Chairperson Madhav Kaushik, writer Neelesh Kulkarni, award-winning poet Sudeep Sen, writer Rana Safvi and Vikram Sampath among others.
The CLS Literati 2022 shall begin with a mega kavi sammellan at the Indraprastha Auditorium Panchkula on the evening of 16th December, which shall be inaugurated by the Hon’ble CM, Haryana. The event, which is being organized with the support of Haryana Sahitya Akademi and the Directorate of Public Relations and Cultural Affairs, Haryana, will be led by the famous poet and humorist Surender Sharma and several other noted Hindi poets with the aim to celebrate Haryanvi culture through the region’s literature, humor, and wit.
This shall be followed by the two-day literary extravaganza, on the 17th and 18th of December, at The Lake Club, Chandigarh from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM on both days. The two-day event will have panel discussions with various authors from across the country and overseas. Besides immersive sessions spanning across genres such as Sufism, travel, women's issues, poetry, media, and politics, various book releases and interactive Q&A sessions will also take place.
