PAU students win laurels at North Zone Inter-Varsity Youth Fest, VC congratulates winners

Ludhiana, February 6, 2023: The Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) Dr Satbir Singh Gosal congratulated the students for winning laurels at the North Zone Inter University Youth Festival held at Jammu recently.
Students clinched second prize in quiz and elocution; third prize in drama; fourth prize in debate, cartooning, mime, skit, and installation; and fifth prize in mehndi.
During VC-students’ milni (meet), Dr. Gosal observed that co-curricular activities were a vital part of academics and helped in instilling self-confidence and personality development in the youths.
Exhorting the students to continue participating in literary, cultural and sports events enthusiastically, Dr Gosal urged them to serve society by being good human beings and responsible citizens.
Divulging the details, Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director of Students’ Welfare, informed that the students won prizes in 10 events. Students, namely, Sanavarvir Singh, Vineet Dhawan and Kirtan Gupta secured the second position in quiz, whereas Tarun Kapoor stood second in elocution, he said.The drama team bagged the third spot during the fest. Tarun Kapoor and Gurvinder Bajwa got the fourth prize in debate and Gurleen Kaur stood fourth in cartooning. Jaspreet kaur won the fifth prize in mehndi competition, he added.
Students were accompanied by the team managers comprising Mr Satvir Singh, Supervisor; Ms Khushpreet Kaur and Ms Naina. Dr Jaswinder Kaur, Incharge, Cultural Activities, informed that the teams of drama, elocution and quiz will also participate in the National Youth Festival, scheduled to be held at Bangalore.
Present on the occasion were Dr Rupinder Kaur, President of Fine Arts Club; Dr Vishal Bector; Dr Ashoo Toor, Dr Anureet Kaur Chandi, Dr Sharanjit Kaur Bal, Dr Karanvir Singh Gill and Dr Nilesh Bilwalkar.
