Ludhiana, March 24, 2023: The Commissioner of Police Ludhiana Mandeep Singh Sidhu, IPS, held a press conference today to give details regarding the confirmation of three property freezing orders under Section 68F of the NDPS Act.
The properties of three smugglers were frozen by concerned station house officers and sent for confirmation to the competent authority in Delhi a month ago.
The competent authority has now confirmed the freezing orders. The financial investigation, as enshrined in Section 68F of the NDPS Act, was carried out against the accused, against whom cases under the NDPS Act are registered.
Freezing the property of such accused deters them from further indulging in such activities. Additionally, the proceeds of the drug crime are taken by the government, thereby containing the illegal earnings through the drug trade. This also sends a strong message to other drug peddlers in society.
The details of the accused, cases registered against them, and the property frozen with its valuation are listed in the table below.
