Souvenir Sale Centre starts functioning at Martyrs Memorial, Hussainiwala
Ferozepur, 25 March 2023: The Souvenir Sale Centre at Martyrs Memorial, Hussainiwala has started under the programme to face-lift the National Martyrs Memorial, which was inaugurated by Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann along with Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, MLAs Ranbir Singh Bhullar and Rajnish Dahiya on March 23, during his visit this place to pay tributes to the brave-hearts Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. Secretary Red Cross, Ashok Behal was also present on this occasion.
Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh Dhiman said, the Punjab government under the able leadership of Bhagwant Singh Maan is making great efforts for the social creation of the dreams of martyrs. Efforts are being made for the development of the district with special focus on National Martyrs Memorial at Hussainiwla making it a centre of attraction by providing facilities for tourists from the country and abroad.
He said, to start with, a Souvenir Sale Centre has been started, to be operated by Red Cross Society, so that tourists coming the memorial at Hussainiwala cold get various types of souvenirs – like watches, T-shirts, plens diaries, key rings, cups, clocks etc. - depicting the pictures of martyr and making available the books on the history of martyrs.
DC said that in the coming days, major efforts are also being initiated to make the Martyrs Memorial more attractive so that there can be a big increase in the number of pilgrims/tourists. He said that the martyrs are our source of inspiration and it is the duty of all of us to pass on the information about them from door to door.
