Malerkotla police arrests 44 more fugitives

Malerkotla, February 19, 2024: 44 more fugitives have been arrested today by the district police in Malerkotla while taking action against the fugitive criminals. Before this, the police had already arrested 41 fugitive criminals. This is the second crackdown this week.
This morning, under the leadership of DSP Gurdev Singh, around 200 police personnel simultaneously raided more than 150 locations based on actionable intelligence.During the surprise raid, 44 fugitives were detained. On whom robbery, assault, fraud and many other cases were recorded.
While giving the information, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harkmalpreet Singh Khakh said that this operation is a warning that the police have sealed all escape routes of law-abiding criminals in Malerkotla.
He added that the action would speed up pending investigations as the cycle of suspects evading arrest has been broken. The arrested accused will be produced in the local court and remanded for further investigation.
The Malerkotla police have pledged to conduct more random checks till the rule of law is strengthened in the district.
