Ferozepur cops nab one with illegal arms wanted in firing and spreading panic case
Ferozepur, February 22, 2024: Under its campaign against the anti-social elements, the Ferozepur police got success with arresting one person with a revolver; a country-made revolver (katta) and empty cartridges, wanted in a firing case and created terror.
SSP said, all possible efforts are being made to completely curb the incidents of mischievous elements. In this regard, special teams under the supervision of district police under the supervision of district gazetted officers have been created, which are constantly in the whole area of the activities of bad elements by monitoring and taking action against bad elements involved in illegal activities.
Earlier, the team under the supervision of Randhir Kumar, SP(I) with Gurdeep Singh DSP Zira and Charan Singh, SHO arrested the accused Harshpreet Singh son of Ranjit Singh resident of Mallanwala police station, Makhu.
On February 18, the accused Rajbir Singh alias Raja Gill along with co-accused Lovepreet Singh and Harshpreet Singh of Makhu in a car while they were coming to Zira from Ferozepur side in a car and around 6.15 pm when they reached near village M.S.Wala, had fired on Avtar Singh’s vehicle with a revolver and spread panic. A case under Sections 336/34 IPC 25/54/27 Arms Act, was registered and the hunt was on to nab the accused.
A special campaign was launched, under which during the investigation on February 20, the wanted alleged accused Rajbir Singh alias Raja Gill was arrested for the recovery of illegal weapons and a car.
Randhir Kumar SP(I) said a campaign has been launched to arrest the remaining accused based on interrogation of arrested persons. Meanwhile, a police remand will be obtained by presenting them in the count and more important clues are likely to be on the surface.
