More than 62,000 fiber optic connections will be provided at Gram Panchayat level -Haryana CM

Chandigarh, February 23, 2024 – Haryana Chief Minister,Manoha r Lal said that under a scheme to improve digital connectivity at the Gram Panchayat level, more than 62,000 fiber optic connections will be provided.
So far, 7079 optical fiber connections have been provided to Gram Sachivalayas, government schools, health centers and other places at the Gram Panchayat level. Under this scheme, an amount of Rs 130 crore is being spent including a grant of Rs 65 crore from the Central Government.
While presenting the budget for 2024-25 fiscal, the Chief Minister said that the State Government has taken up the revamping of Haryana State Data Centre and augment the State Wide Area Network besides upgradation of bandwidth in order to meet the growing connectivity requirements in government offices up to the block level.
The tenders for these works have been issued and it is expected that these works will be carried out at a cost of Rs 300 crore.He said that the governance revolution that started some years ago is at a stage where tangible benefits in terms of ease of living for citizens have become visible.
In the coming year, the initiatives under the PPP umbrella shall be consolidated so as to transition smoothly into the next phase.
Describing good governance as the guiding principle of the present government, he said that at the heart of this endeavour is the technology-based unique programme – the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP).
The core objective of PPP is paperless, faceless governance providing services at the citizen’s doorstep. Till date, 71.60 lakh families have registered on PPP comprising 2.85 crore individuals.The data verification work is also nearly complete and all important schemes and services provided by the Government has now been linked to PPP.
We will have to channel the energies of every one of us to lead India to a Developed Bharat and Developed Haryana. This is the period in which we reclaim the glories of our past, I am sure that the hardworking people of Haryana will lead the growth and development of the nation, he added.
