Tarn Taran, April 26, 2024: The District Election Office has completed the preparations for Lok Sabha Election-2024 for Halka Khadur Sahib of District Tarn Taran and every voter must participate in the festival of democracy on June 1, said District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Taran Taran Sandeep Kumar while addressing a press conference at the District Administrative Complex on Friday.
Sandeep Kumar said that there are a total of 9 assembly constituencies in Khadur Sahib Constituency, which is the district. Apart from Taran Taran, Amritsar, Kapurthala, and Ferozepur also come.
District Election Officer, Sandeep Kumar said that given “This time, 70 Par” by the Election Commission of India during Lok Sabha Elections-2024, the maximum number of voters to achieve the target of vote poll in Lok Sabha Constituency 03-Khadur Sahib. Participation will be ensured.
The District Election Officer said that in Lok Sabha Constituency Khadur Sahib, there are 09 Vidhan Sabha Constituencies 21-Taran Taran, 22-Khemkaran, 23-Patti, 24-Khadur Sahib, 14-Jandyala Guru, 25-Baba Bakala, 74-Zira, 28- Sultanpur Lodhi and 27- Kapurthala are included. He said that the number of voters in Lok Sabha constituency Khadur Sahib is 16 lakh 51 thousand 346.
Among them, there are 8 lakh 68 thousand 388 male voters, 7 lakh 82 thousand 894 female voters, and 64 transgender voters.
District Election Officer Mr. Sandeep Kumar, giving information about the voters in Khadur Sahib Lok Sabha Constituency, said that the total number of voters in Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency under Khadur Sahib Lok Sabha Constituency is 192517, Khemkaran 206580, Patti 191437, Khadur. There are 200115 voters in Sahib, 178982 in Jandiala Guru, 201087 in Baba Bakala, 186008 in Zira, 148157 in Sultanpur Lodhi and 146313 in Kapurthala.
The District Election Officer gave information about 1974 polling booths in Khadur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency and said that there are 215 polling booths in Taran Taran. Similarly, there are 235 polling booths in Khemkaran, 225 in Patti, 229 in Khadur Sahib, 216 in Jandiala Guru, 234 in Baba Bakala, 231 in Zira, 195 in Sultanpur Lodhi and 194 in Kapurthala.
District Election Officer Sandeep Kumar emphasized the importance of vote and said that we all need to exercise our right to vote freely, fairly, peacefully, without fear, religion, class, caste, community, for the strengthening of Indian democracy. Should be used without influence of language or any temptation.
Apart from this, Sandeep Kumar said that at each polling station of Halka Khadur Sahib, the required facility (Assured Minimum Facility) will be ensured for the voters. He said that wheelchair facility will be provided for elderly and disabled voters at each polling station.
He said that senior citizens above 85 years and more than 40 percent disabled voters will be given the facility to vote from home. He said that at each polling station, transport facility will be provided by the district election office to bring the elderly and disabled voters to the booth.
He appealed to the voters to download the C-Whistle application. Mr. Sandeep Kumar said that if any person violates the standard election code in the constituency, he can complain on the C-Vizil application and the complaint will be redressed by the district election office within 100 hours.
