Indian consulate in Auckland soon, IFS officer Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi to head Mission

Auckland (New Zealand), May 17a 2024:- A fully staffed office Indian consulate is all set to be opened in Auckland by the end of this year. Preparations in this regard are in full swing. The Government of India appointed IFS officer Madan Mohan Seth to lead the mission. He is currently at the Indian Embassy in Vietnam.
Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi joined the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 2006. During the period 2006-2008, he trained at the Foreign Affairs Institute (FSI), New Delhi. From February 2008 to September 2008, he worked as an attaché in the BSM (Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Maldives) section of the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi. From September 2008 to September 2010, he held the position of Language Trainer at the Indian Embassy, Yangon and also worked in the Cultural and Information Department of the Indian Embassy in Yangon. From September 2010 to February 2014, he was the Consul General at the Consulate General of India, Mandalay, Myanmar. From March 2014 to August 2017, he held the post of Political and Commercial Officer at the Indian Embassy in Rome. After this he is continuously working in different positions.
. Sethi was born in 1973 in Khurda District (Orissa State). He graduated with a degree in medicine. Worked in four different public hospitals in Odisha State for a period of about four years before joining the Foreign Service. He is married to Mrs. Swagatika Bhuyan and has two sons - Anshul Kumar (12 years) and Abhik Kumar (9 years).
His hobbies include reading, writing and music. They are particularly interested in non-governmental activities related to women's issues.
