Sawhney shared that the video helpline number 83605-83697 has been utilized by speech and hearing-impaired voters to seek election/voting assistance from sign language expert Santosh Kumari. This support has enabled them to address queries related to elections, voting, and filing complaints.
Sawhney emphasized the importance of ensuring the participation of these voters in the upcoming voting exercise on June 1, stating that they are valuable members of society.
Additionally, District Social Security Officer Varinder Singh Tiwana mentioned that teams have also conducted 24 home visits to sensitize such voters who lack internet access, and 20 public meetings have also been held to engage with them to motivate them to vote on June 1.
