Fazilka police recover Rs.13.80 lac, 3 held in Bikaner robbery case
Fazilka, May 23, 2024: The Fazilka police claimed to have arrested three accused at Hi-tech Naka Rajpura Barrier, with cash of Rs.13.80 lac in a robbery case of Rajasthan’s Bikaner district.
The Fazilka police have successfully implemented measures to ensure a fair election campaign for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. During a vehicle search at a checkpoint at Rajpura on the Abohar Hanumangarh road, the cash was discovered and three accused were arrested on the spot.
Dr. Pragya Jain IPS SSP Fazilka said that 24 checkpoints have been set up on the Rajasthan border, with continuous monitoring. Under the supervision of Sukhwinder Singh DSP Abohar Rural, a police team comprising Inspector Jaswinder Singh, ASI Lal Chand, L/C Kalo Kaur, and C Arvind Kumar stopped a Swift Desire car (HR-13A-2705) with a driver along with two another person at Rajpura (Hi-tech naka point) PS Bahavwala.
During the search of the vehicle Rs.13.80 lac cash was recovered. The police immediately called the Flying Surveillance Team (FST) - formed by the Election Commission of India to monitor elections and prevent any irregularities - to the spot and the cash was handed over to FST for necessary action as per the guidelines of Election Commission. Three apprehended individuals were identified as Babu Khan resident of Pogal Road back side Sabji Mandi Bikaner, Dipendra Singh alias Deepak of Tank No. 11 Mukta Prasad Bikaner and Armaan Khan of Pogal Road Back Side Sabji Mandi Bikaner.
The police party had got an in-put that the cash belonged to three individuals involved in a robbery in Bikaner district and a registration of FIR No. 149 dated 21-5-2024 u/s 392,34 IPC is registered against them in Bikaner. A case under Arms Act has already been registered against Babu Khan, while four cases – three under Section 307 IPC and one under Section 76 IPC, have been registered against Depender Singh. All the three are currently under investigation for further links.
