Farmer leader asks Haryana residents to think before voting
Ferozepur, May 25, 2024: The farmers at Shambhu borders are continuing with their protest on 102nd day today and opposing PM Modi during his visit to the Punjab. The farmer leaders asked the Haryana residents to think before voting on May 25 and show the power of the common citizens at the press of the EVM buttons.
Appealing to the Haryana residents, where the polls are to take place on May 25, Tajveer Singh, farmer leader said, the farmers should wisely use their right to vote, and keep in mind the atrocities on the farmers and their rights, the sacrifice of 20 farmers, detaining three farmers by Haryana Police and not accepting any of our demands, especially the guarantee for MSP.
He said, “Whosoever government may come in power on 4th June, our protests would continue for the rights of farmers, till the demands are accepted.”
On this occasion, farmer leaders Sarvan Singh Pandher, Sukhjit Singh Hardojhande and Sukhdev Singh Bhojraj said that today, farmers, labourers and women from different organizations left for Modi's rally through Gurdaspur-Amritsar Road to ask questions, but an attempt was made to stop them by putting up barricades, by deploying tippers and using a heavy force.
The leaders said that the farmers have once again been prevented from questioning the PM for not implementing the Dr Swaminathan Commission report as promised during the 2014 elections.
