Ferozepur youths join walkathon ‘Youth Chalya Booth’ to give message to vote
Ferozepur, May 30, 2024: A voter awareness walkathon was organized from the local hockey stadium under the banner of "Youth Chalya Booth" to encourage the voters of the district to vote, especially the youth voters. On this occasion, a large number of young people participating in the walkathon took a pledge to vote by taking a selfie with the voter pledge on the selfie board. Dr Charumita said that to achieve the target of "70 Par this time" given by the Election Commissioner for the Lok Sabha elections, war-level awareness activities are being organized in the district under the sweep programme. In this context, this walkathon has been organized to make the youth aware to vote today. She appealed to the voters to participate in the elections to be held on June 1 and contribute to strengthening democracy. She said that the voting time is from 07:00 am to 06:00 pm and appealed to vote early in the morning keeping in mind the heat wave.
AC(G), Suraj said that all arrangements are being made to protect the voters from the heat on the voting day on June 1.
The first place in the walkathon was won by Gurjit Singh, second place by Manmeet Singh and third place by Ranbir Singh and Gagandeep Kaur. The youth who came to the first ten places were honoured with a certificate by the Assistant Returning Officer.
On this occasion, the district SVEEP Coordinator Dr. Satinder Singh, Secretary Red Cross Ashok Bahl, DDF Saurabh Kumar, SVEEP Coordinator Kamal Sharma, Lakhwinder Singh, Dr. Bohar Singh, Rajinder Kumar, Sarabjit Singh Bhavra, Amarjyoti Mangat, Hockey Coach Manmeet Singh Rubal, Swimming Coach Gagan Mata, Coach Gurjit Singh, Kabaddi coach Avtar Kaur were also present.
