CGC Landran student Richa Sharma wins Gold in state level shooting championship

Chandigarh, July 13, 2024: Richa Sharma, an MBA student from, Chandigarh Business School of Administration, (CBSA), CGC Landran bagged the Gold Medal in the 10mt Air Rifle NR, Senior Category (Women) at the 29th Himachal Pradesh State Shooting Championship 2024 held in Shimla.
Competing against 250-plus participants in this category, Richa claimed gold with a remarkable score of 396/400. “It is a matter of pride for me to have represented my college at this state level championship. I express my gratitude to my family and coaches for their encouragement and belief in me. I would also like to thank my college CGC Landran and teachers for their unwavering support which helped me manage my training along with studies, enabling me to practice and hone my focus and skill”, said Richa.
She was felicitated for this outstanding achievement with a special cash prize, exclusively reserved for CGC’s outstanding sportspersons, by Dr. P.N. Hrisheekesha, Campus Director, CGC Landran, accompanied by HoD Sports and Dean Student Welfare, CGC Landran.
Hailing from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, Richa credits her father, an Indian Army veteran for her interest in the sport and took up shooting while they were stationed at Jaipur.
Practicing everyday under the guidance of her coach, the young champion has previously won gold medals in district, state, and national level shooting competitions.A sports scholarship holder, Richa, aspires to pursue her passion for shooting alongside her career goals.
