Target to plant about 10 lakh new saplings during this season in the district: Tarn Taran DC

Tarn Taran, July 17, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Taran Taran Sandeep Kumar held a special meeting with the officials of all departments at the District Administrative Complex Taran Taran to complete the Punjab Government's campaign to plant more trees and the ongoing work of planting trees by various departments. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Taran Taran Mr. Varinderpal Singh Bajwa, S. D. M. Taran Taran Mr. Simrandeep Singh, S. D. M. Patti Mr. Kirpalveer Singh, S. D. M. Khadur Sahib Mr. Sachin Pathak, District Development and Panchayat Officer Mr. Harjinder Singh Sandhu and Chief Agriculture Officer Mr. Harpal Singh Pannu were present in addition to officials of various departments.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that a target of planting 10 lakh new saplings has been set in the district Taran Taran during this season, and till now about 01 lakh, 70 thousand saplings have been planted by various departments.
He said that these trees are being planted on the roadsides under different departments, government offices, panchayat places, places under the forest department, government and private tube wells, etc.
The progress of the departments was found to be low and they should complete their target as soon as possible.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that every department should participate in this campaign with enthusiasm.He said that in schools where plants are being planted in empty places, their maintenance work should be ensured. Plant more trees.
The Deputy Commissioner said that he will monitor this campaign on a weekly basis and any kind of lapse will not be tolerated.
