Railway staff exemplifies integrity by returning lost purse to female passenger

Ferozepur, August 4, 2024: The railway staff exemplified integrity by returning the lost purse to a female passenger on the Express train.
It looks to be the outcome of ‘Mission Satyanishtha’ launched by the railways long back to sensitize its employees about the need to adhere to ethics and maintain high standards of integrity at work when a CIT Sukhdev Singh (headquarters Jalandhar City) displayed commendable honesty for the found a purse on seat number 44 in the B1 coach during ticket checking on train number 11905 (Agra Cantt Hoshiarpur Express) and arranged its delivery to its original owner.
The purse contained essential items belonging to a passenger who had travelled from New Delhi to Ludhiana. Upon discovering the purse, Sukhdev Singh used the passenger's mobile number obtained through HHT to contact her. The passenger confirmed that she had accidentally left her purse on the train while disembarking at Ludhiana station.
Sukhdev Singh gathered complete information about the luggage from the passenger and instructed her to collect her purse from the CIT office in Jalandhar City. After verification proceedings in the presence of the CIT at the CIT office, the purse was returned to the grateful passenger.
The lady passenger expressed her gratitude to the Indian Railways and praised the honesty and dedication of the railway staff. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Paramdeep Singh Saini announced that an appreciation certificate would be awarded to the ticket-checking staff for their commendable work, encouraging others to follow their example.
