National Lok Adalat scheduled in District Courts on Sept 14 at Ferozepur
Ferozepur, September 7, 2024: A quarterly meeting of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) was held under the chairmanship of District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, DLSA Ferozepur, Virindra Aggarwal. The meeting was attended by Additional District and Sessions Judge Naval Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Suraj Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ferozepur Ravinder Pal Singh, Chief Judicial Magistrate Ferozepur Rashpal Singh, and Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, DLSA Ferozepur, Ms Anuradha, among others.
During the meeting, Aggarwal announced that the National Lok Adalat would be held in the district courts on September 14, 2024. He urged the public to make the most of this opportunity, emphasising that pre-litigation cases (which have not yet been filed in court), civil cases, family disputes, bank recovery cases, and certain criminal cases, excluding serious offences, will be heard and resolved in the Lok Adalat. He highlighted that the decisions made in Lok Adalat cannot be appealed in any court, saving both time and money for the parties involved and helping to resolve personal conflicts amicably.
He also discussed the tree plantation drive being conducted by the DLSA, encouraging the planting of more trees. The meeting was also attended by District Attorney Ferozepur Dalip Kumar and Jasdeep Singh Kamboj, President of the Bar Association Ferozepur.
