Water Resources Minister Jouramajra visits Bhakra Dam, reviews maintenance and water-level

Nangal, September 17, 2024: Punjab's Minister of Water Resources, Mining and Geology, Water and Land Conservation, Information and Public Relations, Horticulture, Freedom Fighters and Defence Services Welfare, Chetan Singh Jouramajara, visited Bhakra Dam Nangal today.
Water Resources Minister Shri Jouramajara emphasized that under Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Singh Mann's leadership, the Punjab Government is focusing on conserving groundwater by promoting maximum utilization of canal water for drinking, irrigation, and industries.
Chetan Singh Jouramajara visited Bhakra Nangal Dam, reviewing its maintenance and water level.
He met with officials, issuing necessary instructions. Speaking to media, Jouramajara stated that Punjab is making every effort to utilize canal water, with timely repairs to canals where needed. He reaffirmed Punjab Government's commitment to fulfilling its share in BBMB.
Thereafter, Cabinet Minister Chetan Singh Jouramajara visited Bhakra Dam, where he toured the power generation unit, power generation facility, and modern museum, gathering information about the dam's entire process from officials.
The Minister then planted a tree as a memento and promoted horticulture. BBMB's Chief Engineer CP Singh, Deputy Chief Engineer HL Kamboz, Additional Deputy Commissioner Vikas Sanjeev Kumar, SDM Anmajot Kaur, DSP Manjeet Singh, Tehsildar Sandeep Kumar, Executive Engineer Harjot Singh Walia, and PRO Satnam Singh were present.
