Agri-Engineers attend workshop on co-curricular activities at PAU

Ludhiana, September 20, 2024: The Alumni Association and the DDMC, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (COAET), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized a one-day workshop on “Theatre, Fine Arts, Photography and Literary Events” for the students to kickstart the preparations for the upcoming Youth Festival 2024-25.
Dr Manjeet Singh, Dean, CoAET, welcomed the resource persons Janmeja Singh Johl and Mr Sanjivan Singh Dhir, the well-renowned personalities in the field of fine arts, photography, literature, and theatre.
In his remarks, he stressed upon the importance of co-curricular activities in a student’s journey in the college and how it helped to prepare him/her for future responsibilities in day-to-day life.
Dr Preetinder Kaur, President, Alumni Association, CoAET, introduced the resource persons, and extended support to the students and DDMC in future endeavours.
Johl, an established photographer, shared the technicalities of the literary, photography and fine arts events with the students and stressed upon the importance of talent and craft in life.
Dhir, a well-known theatre artist, playwriter and film artist, shared the main skill set required for the theatre and also the technical aspects of it.Dr Gurnaz Singh Gill, Incharge, DDMC, CoAET, shared the technical details event wise and the importance of observation and improvisation in theatre. Later, he proposed a vote of thanks.
An interactive session was also held where students came onstage with their queries and doubts, regarding their respective events, which were addressed by the resource persons.
Later, resource persons were honored and participating students were presented participation certificates.
Dr. Nilesh Biwalkar, Ex-Incharge, DDMC; Dr SK Singh, Incharge, Fine Arts; and Dr Gurveer Kaur, Incharge, Speaker Forum, also graced the occasion. The Executive Committee members Dr Samanpreet Kaur, Dr Sandhya, Dr Gill, Dr Arshdeep Singh and Dr Biwalkar put in all-out efforts for the smooth conduct of the workshop.
