SDMs and Nodal Officers Deputed Sub Division wise asked to take strict vigil

SAS Nagar, October 4, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain while reviewing the measures taken to prevent stubble burning in the district, asked the sub-Divisional Magistrates to ensure the reporting time of fire extinguishers (fire tenders) within 15 minutes to the spot to douse the paddy stubble flames.
Similarly, she directed the Nodal Officers deputed Sub Division-wise to keep strict monitoring of the areas where they have been deployed with the respective SDMs.
She said that it will be the responsibility of the Nodal Officers to keep the stock of the harvesting whether started or yet to start to make available the crop residue management machinery to the farmers to dispose of the stubble after getting the harvesting over.
Entrusting the village Nodal Officers and Cluster Officers (a group of 10 villages) to keep the database of machinery available within the village and cluster to make available to the farmers as per their needs.
It was also told that all Nodal Officers, Cluster Officers and Supervisory Officers shall elaborately brief about the Ex-situ and In-Situ mechanism of Stubble Management through Nodal officers at the village level.
They shall also ensure that both Ex-situ and In-Situ machinery is made available to all the farmers as per their harvesting schedule and further ensure that machines available with CHCs, Cooperative Societies, Farmer producer Organisations, Panchayats and Independent farmers whether procured through subsidy or otherwise are in fully functional condition and are made available to the farmers on rental/sharing basis.
They were asked that the IT Tools such as mobile application Unnat Kisan and website cs.posible.indeveloped by the Agriculture Department and Cooperative Department respectively shall be utilised for this purpose.
However, due to technical snags wherever it is not possible to utilise these apps, the Sub-Divisional Officers shall ensure that these databases are prepared manually or in Excel sheets.
The supervisory officers shall ensure that these databases are checked daily during their field visits. The Chief Agriculture Officer asked to issue the village-wise schedule of harvesting and sowing of the next crop on a weekly basis depending upon whether on other local circumstances so that all Nodal Officers, Cluster Officers and Supervisory Officers can plan their field visits and machinery utilised accordingly.
The ADC (G) Ciraj Tidke has been given supervision of Derabassi and Mohali while ADC (D) Sonam Chaudhary of Kharar Sin Divisions besides Chief Agricultural Officer along with SDO PPCB, Nodal Officer of Derabassi, Deputy Dir. Animal Husbandry, along with XEN PPCB, ADO Gurdial Kumar, Nodal Officer of Mohali while Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies along with ADO Agriculture Department and SDO PPCB Kharar, Nodal Officer Kharar attended the meeting.
