Indian Railways to operate 7,296 special trains during festivals
To operate 71 festival special trains in Northern Railway including 5 from Punjab

Ferozepur, November 1, 2024: To ease travel for passengers during the festive season, Indian Railways has announced the launch of 7,296 special trains across the country during festivals as against approximately 4,500 trains during the last year. Northern Railway will lead with operations starting on November 2, with multiple trains running across states.
These special trains aim to manage the increased passenger flow and ensure smoother travel for holiday travellers. The comprehensive schedule includes services from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Uttarakhand, connecting to major cities and religious destinations.
However, from UP 32 trains will depart from Anand Vihar Terminal, New Delhi, Bathinda Junction, Haridwar, Lucknow Charbagh, Amritsar, Varanasi Junction, Saharanpur Junction, Ambala, Shahjahanpur, from Delhi 23 trains, from Haryana 10 trains, from Punjab 5 trains and one from Uttarakhand.
Railways have made special arrangements for the convenience of passengers. Arrangement for entry into the train in a queue. Additional staff and Railway Protection Force personnel have been deployed for crowd management.
