Mohali Mandis procures 1,66,383 MT of paddy by Sunday evening: DC Aashika Jain
Payment worth Rs 365.91 crore made to the farmers till now

SAS Nagar (Punjab), November 3, 2024: Amidst smooth sailing of paddy procurement operations in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district, a total of 1,66,383 MT of paddy have been procured by Sunday evening.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain said that about 77 percent of the expected arrival has been purchased in the district till now. This season’s total arrival has been expected at 2,14,776 MT.
She further informed that about 60,612 MT of paddy have been lifted from the district mandis till Sunday evening. She added that a payment of Rs 365.91 crore has been made to the accounts of the farmers directly.
The Deputy Commissioner said that as per agency-wise procurement data, Pungrain has procured 56,192 MT of paddy.
The procurement agency Markfed has purchased 40,041 MT of paddy. PUNSUP has procured 36,834 MT of paddy. Punjab State Warehousing Corporation has procured 15,301 MT while Food Corporation of India has procured 17,354 MT of paddy. Private traders have purchased only 661 MT of paddy.
She said that Pungrain has been allocated Kharar, Daumajra, Kurali, Khizrabad, Derabassi, Nagla, Lalru, Tasimbli and Banur mandis for procuring paddy while Markfed from Kurali, Derabassi, Nagla, Amlala, Lalru, Tasimbli, and Banur grain markets. PUNSUP has been entrusted with the task of purchasing from Kharar, Rurki, Kurali, Derabassi, Nagla, Samgoli, Mangla Trading Company, Lalru, Tiwana and Jaroat Mandis.
Punjab State Warehousing Corporation has been given the task of purchasing paddy from Kurali, Khizrabad, Derabassi, Nagla, Samgoli and Lalru.
Similarly, the Food Corporation of India has been assigned with making purchases from Bhago Majra, Saneta, Derabassi, Nagla, Lalru, Ashok Batra's Yard, Tasimbli and Banur grain markets.
