PUBG friendship leads to kidnapping; Ferozepur police traces minor girl from 400 km away
Ferozepur, December 11, 2024: A 16-year-old girl from Jallo village in Mamdot block, Ferozepur, was safely reunited with her parents after being located 400 km away in a slum area of Ghaziabad. The police acted swiftly following a complaint from the girl’s parents, who reported her missing on the morning of November 22.
DSP Karan Sharma informed that the girl had befriended a boy from Ghaziabad through the online game PUBG and planned for a meeting. CCTV footage revealed that the boy travelled to Ferozepur, took the girl along with him on a bus, and disappeared.
PUBG, which is abbreviated as Player Unknown’s BattleGround, is one of the most renowned games played by both youths and adults all over the world. There are many harmful effects of PUBG mobile game addiction. The youths should avoid their involvement in such games and utilize their energy in some other healthy activities otherwise the human emotions and qualities that we possess, will be jeopardised.
A special team, led by Abhinav Kumar, Inspector, employed advanced tracking technology to pinpoint the girl’s location in Ghaziabad. Upon rescuing her, the police brought her back to Ferozepur and handed her over to her parents.
While the accused remains absconding, the girl has not reported any exploitation. A medical examination will be conducted with parental consent. The police have registered a case under Sections 87 and 137 of the BNS and are actively searching for the accused.
The girl’s parents expressed their gratitude to the police for their prompt and effective action.
