Chandigarh, January 14, 2025: In a move to enhance public transport services, Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria flagged off 60 new long-route inter-state buses for the Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) at the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT), Sector 17, today.
The addition of these buses brings the total CTU fleet to 684, including 220 long-route buses, marking a significant expansion in inter-state connectivity. Chandigarh Chief Secretary Rajiv Verma was also present during the event.

At the inauguration, Kataria emphasized the administration's commitment to sustainable transport. "Our mission is to convert 100 percent of CTU buses to electric within the next two years," he stated, highlighting the city’s drive towards eco-friendly mobility solutions.
This development is expected to provide improved and efficient transport options for commuters while aligning with Chandigarh's long-term vision for greener public transport.
