Shiromani Committee announces religious exam results
2,928 students to receive scholarships worth Rs 46.67 lakh

Amritsar (Punjab), April 28, 2025: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today announced the results of the Class I and Class II religious examinations conducted by its Dharam Prachar Committee in November 2024. SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami released the results, stating that 2,928 students will be awarded scholarships totaling approximately ₹46.67 lakh, along with certificates of merit.
Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Dhami emphasized the SGPC’s commitment not only to the upkeep of Gurdwara Sahibs but also to the promotion of Sikhreligious education.He highlighted that the religious examinations play a crucial role in connecting the youth with Sikh history, ethics, and principles.
Thousands of students participate in these examinations annually, with scholarships awarded to the top performers. Additionally, Amritdhari students receive separate scholarship benefits.
According to Dhami, a total of 53,647 students appeared for the religious examinations held in November 2024 across two grades. From these, 2,928 meritorious students have qualified for scholarships. Furthermore, students securing the top three positions in each grade will receive special prizes.
Appealing to educational institutions, the SGPC President urged school administrators to actively encourage student participation in future religious examinations, thereby fostering greater awareness among children and youth about their rich Sikh heritage.
Present at the event were SGPC Secretary S. Pratap Singh, OSD S. Satbir Singh Dhami, Additional Secretary S. Bijay Singh, Deputy Secretary Prof. Sukhdev Singh, S. Harbhajan Singh Wakta, S. Sukhbir Singh, and Incharge Bibi Ranjit Kaur, among others.
