BSF recovers drones, pistols, magazines in multi-district border operations
Ferozepur, April 30, 2025: Based on specific inputs of BSF intelligence wing, vigilant BSF troops conducted multiple operations leading to the recovery of two drones, one pistol and six pistol magazines in the border area of Amritsar, Tarn Taran and Ferozepur districts.
On Tuesday evening, the BSF troops recovered one small drone and 6 pistol magazines from a farming field near the village of Daoke district of Amritsar. The drone and three magazines were in a completely broken state.
In another incident yesterday evening, the vigilant BSF troops, after interception of a drone movement, launched a search operation in collaboration with Punjab Police and at about 06:25 pm, successfully recovered 01 DJI Mavic-3- 3 Classic drone in damaged condition from a farming field adjacent to the village of Wan in Tarn Taran.
Today, in a search operation, BSF troops seized one pistol wrapped in yellow adhesive tape at about 08:25 am, from a farming field adjacent to the village- Gatti Rajoke of district Ferozepur.
These successful recoveries of drones, pistols and magazines underscore the keen vigilance and unwavering commitment of the BSF troops and Punjab Police in safeguarding the nation’s borders and curbing cross-border smuggling activities.
Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav has announced plans to strengthen border security by deploying anti-drone systems along the International Border with Pakistan. The move comes in response to the growing threat posed by drones, which are increasingly being used for smuggling narcotics and weapons into Indian territory.
