Kullu (Himachal Pradesh), May 2, 2025: Panic gripped Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district after the local administration received a bomb threat from an unidentified source.
The threat, which warned of an attack within 24 hours, has prompted security agencies to heighten vigilance across all major government offices and the district headquarters.
According to reports, the threat was delivered via email, claiming that administrative buildings would be targeted.
Upon receiving the message, the district administration immediately informed the police and intelligence agencies. In response, bomb disposal squads and dog squads have been deployed to key locations.
Deputy Commissioner Torul S. Ravish issued a statement urging calm among the public. “We are thoroughly investigating the threat and have taken all necessary precautions to ensure public safety. We appeal to residents to remain calm and not to panic,” she said.
The police have registered a case and the cyber cell is currently tracing the origin of the email. While authorities are also considering the possibility of it being a hoax or mischief, all potential threats are being treated with due seriousness.
So far, normal life in the district remains unaffected, though heightened security measures have been put in place at schools and other public areas. The administration has urged citizens not to pay heed to rumors and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
This incident follows similar threats received recently by the Chamba and Mandi district administrations. Notably, the warning comes amid the ongoing Peepal Jatar (Spring Festival) in Kullu, which attracts large public gatherings.
