MLA Bhullar visit border villages amid Indo-Pak tensions; two boats provided for emergency evacuation
Ferozepur, May 9, 2025: In the wake of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, Ferozepur Urban MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar, along with SDM Gurmeet Singh and other officials, visited several sensitive border villages to assess the ground situation.
During the visit, residents of the border village Khundar Gatti, located across the Sutlej River, were provided with two boats to ensure swift evacuation in case of an emergency. The boats were given in response to local demands and to strengthen preparedness.
MLA Bhullar reassured residents that there is no need to panic, stating that the Punjab Government and local administration are fully committed to the safety and support of the people. He urged everyone to strictly follow the security guidelines issued by the administration and to remain cautious of false rumours spreading on social media.
Praising the courage of the border residents, Bhullar said the region is known for its bravery and patriotism, and the people have always stood by the nation in challenging times. Villagers also expressed their willingness to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Indian Army if needed and extended their gratitude to the MLA and administration for the timely assistance.
Officials appealed to the public not to spread or believe in rumours on social media that could create panic or fear in the region.
